Freehand diagrammatic drawings will show conceptual space planning, relationships between the various areas, primary entrances, circulation patterns and views that can be seen from the interior.
with almost EVERYTHING being done on the computers or with the aid of sort of technology we get so caught up in perfectly drawn circles and neat graphic diagrams we forget to pick up a pencil (well in my case a 0.2 fine liner) and just let the natural creative juices flow.
i love a good hand sketch and with being so caught up in technology I stepped away from my desk and sat on my floor (yes i prefer to sketch sitting on the floor ) doing a VERY last minute to do a 15 min sketch of my zoning and circulation diagrams for the conceptual design process.
The main building will be accessed through a primary entrance on the south of the building which branches off from the main pedestrian walkway. The main hall, ablutions and woodworking workshop can be accessed via the reception. The classroom, counsellor and computer classroom will be accessed through private entrances as well as views onto the exterior landscaping and possible circulation paths

The first floor will be accessed through a staircase located on the ground floor adjacent to the reception. The lobby will lead you to both a sewing and weaving workshop as well as a pottery workshop, both situated adjacent left and right of the first-floor lobby. A fire escape can be accessed through the sewing and weaving workshop and is positioned on the exterior of the building. Views can be seen onto exterior landscaping as well as a view from the pottery workshop down onto the main hall below.

The indoor pool area will be accessed through one primary access from the south of the building. Upon entering the space, you will be greeted by a receptionist followed by movement to the change rooms or to the pool deck both adjacent to the receptionist.

" just let the natural creative juices flow"
i really enjoyed the process and simplicity of pen and paper and i will most certainly be doing a lot more and incorporating them into my conceptual design process
