today was dry run for both design and construction and to say that design was a total disaster would be an understatement.
i do think that having a dry run is good preparation and good to pick up on any snags before the final presentation but man i left feeling so deflated and just shit.
you put your all into a project for an entire year and it doesn't pan out the way you thought it would in your head and it makes you take a step back and think about everything you've put into it.
the first mess up for design dry run was mu verbal presentation - which i was expecting. taking is not my strong point and i know it always needs work so that was totally expected. then it came down to the actual design of my space.... my lectures are not happy with how they look and feel and feel like i need to incorporate more rural materials and elements and not as much modern finishes. at first i was upset, not because i feel that everyone needs to love my spaces and design style but because why am i hearing this kind of feed back now with one week to go when you have seen the spaces prior to my presentation.. surly this should have been brought to my attention weeks ago ?
i get that this course is very subjective and you aren't going to please everyone one but at lease share your thoughts and opinions sooner.

i always value and respect peoples opinions and constructive criticism and i try to best understand their views but on this specific critique i am going to have to strongly disagree. i feel that just because people come from disadvantaged backgrounds and are used to living in corugated sheet houses does NOT mean that they deserve any less that someone who comes from a wealthy upbringing.
today i just need to step back, reflect on the day and get back into the crack of things all fresh and ready to tackle the next week !
