product design - edit 101

this year i just can't seem to come to a final decision without doing a hundred and one edits to an idea or just going with my gut feeling on a design. i'm unsure why i'm acting in such a way because i usually know what i want and i just go for it (i generally get a feeling when i "just know"). maybe its because this year is such a big year and the final year that i want every last thing to be so good and so well thought out that i'm constantly second guessing myself.

with a dwindling SEVEN WEEKS LEFT i need to stop thinking too hard and just got with what i know. i wouldn't be completing my betch year if i wasn't someone "good" at what i do..

i have finally come to a design for my product and i have decided on a bench that has two/three functions, bench seating that can hold 3 bums, two individual stool seats as well as a room divider if bench seating is not needed.

the images below show both the pattern on the timber bench (the cutouts were designed not only for aesthetic purposes but to create a lighter object), as well as the stool seats which come from the legs of the bench.

i have two of the same images below. one with black coloured legs and one with a more natural timber leg. i can't decide which one i like more.

i like the black because its quite striking but when used as a stool it looks a bit like a penguin with those little mustard feet , but i also like the timber as its more natural and understated.

i have a day or two still to think about which colour i will go with as production will start the end of the week and with all my fingers and toes crossed it will be ready by the 9th October.

I am glad i have come to a final decision on my product and i cant wait to see the final outcome of it !
