Wednesdays are lecture free days so i decided to make full use of my time and work on the design for my product that will feature in the Abantu Community Center.
I have been in a bit of a pickle with regards on WHAT TO DO for a product, its one thing to make something that looks great but for my particular space i need something that is all of three things : 1 - well designed + easy to use 2 - has more than one function 3 - is designed for the community
For the past who knows how long i have been racking my brain on what to make. first it was a light fixture and a leather ottoman thing and a whole bunch of other things in between and now all i can think of is some kind of seating design that can accommodate for a large mass of people that will make use of the community hall.
It is certainly still a work in progress but for now i have designed bench like seating that can also be joined together to form room partitions for smaller grouped gatherings.
Today i was lucky enough to meet up with Mark Momberg who has two companies to his name - Momberg and Co. Hand Crafted Furniture and MarkOne Brand Communication (if you're reading this go check him out). Mark will be assisting me in the design of the product as well as the manufacturing of it.
THANK YOU Mark for taking me on last minute and helping me with my product design.

I am finally starting to get excited for the production of my furniture piece. i have all fingers and toes crossed that it all comes together and i have a beautiful well designed product to hand in on 9 October !
