while in Canada i stumbled across a pottery studio Conestoga River Pottery in what used to be old silos, situated in the little town of St Jacobs. i was fortunate enough to do a quick on the spot interview with one of the potters (she was currently making a little ceramic pig money box).

i was walked through a basic process of designing and manufacturing of pottery as well as the glazing and firing of pieces. the time it takes to make, dry, fire and glaze an object was explained as well as the types of storage and the two different types of kilns that they use and for what type of clay makes use of which kiln (gas or electric).

i was so happy that i stumbled across this little pottery studio half way across the world.

unfortunately i was not able to take pictures on the products for sale or any interior images as all pieces are custom design and the owner would like to keep his work private.

a full transcript of the interview can be found in my document and soon to be book
